During the contratc period, scheduled for three weeks, 400 sections of drill pipe, drill collars and heavy weight drill pipe were inspected by the SGS team of experts.
DEI was conducted by applying a wide portfolio of testing methods, including magnetic particle testing, liquid penetrate inspection, ultrasonic testing and visual inspection in compliance with T.H.Hill DS-1 Cat 3-5 and T.H.Hill DS-1 Cat 5 standards.
The inspection process detected defects and discontinuities to ensure the safety and reliability of the drilling equipment in time for rig mobilization in Egypt by early February.
