The contract requires PT Leighton Contractors Indonesia and PT Marunda Grahamineral to finalise contract terms and conditions.
Under an agreement for advance works, PT Leighton Contractors Indonesia is the operative arm of Leighton Asia is currently mobilising to site to commence work.
Under the seven-year contract, PT Leighton Contractors Indonesia will be responsible for providing project management, mine planning, surveying, supervision, site security services.
It will also provide materials, heavy equipment, equipment maintenance, labour, transportation, medical services, consumables and site infrastructure.
The coal mining project involves the extraction of over two million tonnes of high-quality thermal and coking coal per annum by traditional drill and blast and truck and shovel methods.
