Currently, the block produces 2,400 barrels a day of crude oil, and the new find at the Tisquirama Este-1 well will allow the company to significantly increase production at the block.
In initial tests, the well produced 624 barrels of oil per day said Ecopetrol, which fully owns and operates the block.
The Tisquirama block forms part of the Company’s near field exploration strategy to detect new structures and fields.
The well is defined as directional and reached a depth of about 9,100ft and the presence of hydrocarbons was confirmed at an approximate depth of 7,900ft.
The company to determine the potential and size of the finding, will now perform more extensive production tests over the next few months and drill two delimitation wells.
