As per the deal, the state-owned gas firm will supply pipeline gas to meet the needs of the Group’s three thermal power plants, and the thermal consumptions of Aluminium until the end of 2014.
DEPA will supply the Group with a minimum of 850 million cubic meters per annum, which can meet 70% of the Group’s natural gas demands.
Mytilineos Group, a metals and electricity producer, with more than 1,200MW in operation, said the joint management agreement, which the Group concluded with DEPA after many months of negotiations, adds value to both parties.
The Group noted it is also flexible to imports in order to cover its other needs, depending on the conditions that prevail in the global pipeline gas and liquefied natural gas markets.
