Alliance Power, a wind energy developer, has appointed RMT for the EPC work.
RMT will be responsible for the EPC of the civil and electrical infrastructure to support the installation of 42 units of GE 1.6MW wind turbines at the site.
The civil infrastructure includes roads, crane paths and pads, and turbine foundations.
The electrical infrastructure includes a 34.5/115kV power substation; a 6.2-mile, 115kV project transmission line; and interconnection switch yard to the Western Area Power Administration’s system.
Scope of work also includes tower erection, in-tower wiring, mechanical turbine completion, operations and maintenance building.
Scheduled to be operational by the end of 2012, the project will generate enough clean energy to power about 19,000 households.
Power generated by the project will be sold to a not-for-profit wholesale power provider, Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association under a 20-year agreement.
