DTE energy is investing a total amount of $500m in the four projects.
The four projects support Michigan’s renewable portfolio standard to produce 10% of its power consumption to be generated from renewable sources by 2015.
As per the deal, GE will provide DTE with 69 wind turbines of 1.6-100 capacity for its three Sigel, Minden and McKinley wind projects and will supply 68 wind turbines of the same capacity for the fourth project in Chandler Township.
DTE Energy executive director Irene Dimitry said, "The contract with GE also provides the benefit of having the same technology platform on all four wind parks."
