The I-1 platform is expected to have a processing capacity of 20 million cubic feet of gas per day and 1,000 barrels of oil per day.
Worthington president & CEO Tony Mason said, "This processing capacity will allow us to handle production from the I-1 well, plus up to 3 to 4 additional producing wells located in the vicinity of the platform, from which we will earn our 2% Override Interest."
The company is using Pipeline Inspection Gauges (pigs) to perform maintenance operations on the pipeline, cleaning debris and fluids and inspecting the pipeline. It also started the mechanical tap operation involving the tying of the I-1 line into the main feeder line to the Six Pigs processing facility on shore.
The initial flow rate from the well is expected to be low until it is cleaned of all the various materials used in the drilling process. The cleaning is expected to take 45 to 60 days following which the production is expected to increase significantly beginning in late October or early November.
Worthington owns a 10.35% Interest in the I-1 well and a 2% interest in the Mustang Island 818 Lease position.
