The £650,000 investment project will see the replacement of the existing cables along the Trafford Park Road, John Gilbert Way and Westinghouse Road, with 1.6km of improved cables, which is expected to reinforce the power supply to over 200 businesses.
Primarily expected to improve the quality of power supply, the new reliable and easier to repair cables are also anticipated to support extra capacity, if new businesses are built in the area.
Electricity North West area manager Mark Williamson said, ”As electricity cables reach the end of their life it is vital that we replace and upgrade them to ensure customers receive the power they need.”
The project is expected to complete by March 2014.
