The irregular dodecahedral shaped D colour diamond measuring 32x10x8mm was recovered from a bulk sample of about 1,600m south east of the priority Se251 kimberlite pipe.
The diamond is claimed to be the fourth largest recovered at Lulo so far, and largest through the company’s new Dense Media Separation plant, reported proactiveinvestors.com.au.
Finest white diamonds that are totally colorless are classified under a D color. However, more details of the recovered will be revealed only after complete examination.
The company, which is confident of finding the kimberlite pipe or pipes that form the source of these diamonds, intends to recover rare diamonds from several pits in the 3,000km² Lulo project.
