The company bought Queenston’s 50% interest in the properties for a total consideration of C$60m ($60.8m).
Kirkland chairman Harry Dobson said the company has completed a strategically important acquisition.
"We can now press ahead with a more aggressive surface and underground exploration program that supports our vision to build a 5+ million ounce gold inventory," Dobson added.
The company paid C$10m ($10.1m) in the beginning and C$20m ($20.2m) at the completion of the deal.
Upon the receipt of certain government approvals, Kirkland will pay the remaining C$30m ($30.4m) on 3 December, 2012.
Canada-based Kirkland and its former joint venture partner Queenston had purchased the properties.
