The first well of the winter drilling program is underway in the newly acquired Atlee Buffalo property, according to the company.
The horizontal development well is expected to target the oil-bearing sandstones of the Glauconitic formation.
Hemisphere anticipates that the well is expected to take about one week to drill before the rig moves to the Jenner area to drill the remaining planned wells.
The company plans to drill two development horizontal wells targeting the Glauconitic formation in Jenner.
The wells, which are expected to use the recently completed upgrades to increase the fluid handling capacity at Hemisphere’s main facility, will be located near existing pipeline infrastructure.
Hemisphere said that it has drilled 12 consecutive successful Glauconitic horizontal oil wells in the Jenner property, where it has two oil processing facilities, access to around 35 sections of land and a growing inventory of low-risk development drilling locations and medium-risk exploration prospects.
