The contract will help the Irish company in planning, design, construction and day-to-day operations of its electrical distribution network.
Under the terms of the contract, Intergraph will enable and automate the generation of reports, plots, network diagrams and interfaces of ESB Networks with SAP and other business and operational management systems.
Intergraph UK country manager Alun Pearsey highlighted that the firm will serve ESB Networks with an enterprise solution capable of addressing an end-to-end workflow for their electrical network.
ESB Networks IT manager John Gallagher showed confidence that both Intergraph and IMGS understand ESB’s business and deliver the required solution.
"We are reassured in knowing Intergraph and IMGS will work closely with us throughout the implementation process and will continue to support us after go-live," Gallagher added.
IMGS technical director Ciaran Kirk expressed happiness on partnering with Intergraph on the implementation of a next generation GIS for ESB Networks.
"This next generation GIS will help streamline existing ESB Network workflows while meeting the challenges of providing a smarter 21st century electric grid," Kirk added.
"This significant contract award follows another recent Intergraph award by the Greater Dublin Region Water and Drainage Steering Groups, a consortium of city and county councils, and further confirms Intergraph as a dominant supplier to the Irish utilities market sector."
Intergraph will use its G/Technology and GeoMedia solutions to deliver a system with full two-way integration with SAP work, asset and customer management modules as well as Oracle Utilities Outage Management.
