The measured, indicated and inferred resources were added over the past six months and will be used to update the Çöpler Mineral Reserve estimate in conjunction with the Çöpler Sulfide Feasibility Study, scheduled to finish by December 2012.

According to the updated resource estimate, measured and indicated resources increased to 182.6 million tonnes at a grade of 1.4 grams per tonne gold, containing 8 million oz as on June 30, 2012.

With the new estimates, measured and indicated resource increased by 900,000oz, a rise of 11% before mining depletion of approximately 176,000oz between December 31, 2011 and June 30, this year.

Alacer Gold president and CEO David Quinlivan said that the company’s drilling over the past two years has added about four million oz of gold to the Çöpler resource.

"This new resource estimate confirms that the Çöpler deposit contained more than 10 million ounces of gold prior to mining commencing in late 2010.

"In addition, the deposit remains open in most directions and several near-surface, well mineralized areas such as the old Çöpler village area are not yet fully included in the resource. A further 10 kilometers of drilling has been completed since the June resource cut-off date with eight drill rigs continuing on site."
