The subsurface exploration tool uses virtual boreholes to provide accurate data on rock layers and also low-power radio wave and microwave transmissions for deeper subsurface penetration.
Adrok’s technical paper to IJRS says that ADR is a geophysical technique for accurate geological recognition of rock layers and identification of rock types.
According to the technical paper, published in the latest edition of IJRS, field tests in Central Scotland recorded accurate rock layers measurements at different penetration depths, the deepest of which was 700m.
Adrok MD Gordon Stove said that ADR has the potential to offer a cheaper, faster and greener alternative to existing exploration techniques.
"Our current customers have already recognised the benefits of ADR and as a result we recently received an investment of £3M from Canada’s Teck Resources to carry out more developments on the technology."
