As part of the agreement, WCS will provide access to storage and support services, for the RAM Cask and associated equipment to Arvea customers.
The partnership combines the advanced capabilities of the TN RAM cask and ALARA compliant-processing equipment, which is designed to meet nuclear power plant seismic requirements.
Arvea senior vice president Mike McMahon said the agreement is a vital component of the company’s new RAM Cask PLUS program that offers cost-effective, turnkey irradiated waste processing, disposal containers, packaging and transport services for its customers.
”Our partnership with WCS will ensure safe and streamlined waste disposal services for U.S. nuclear plants,” McMahon added.
The services are expected to be used by Arvea for Vermont Yankee’s fuel pool cleanup project from February 2014.
