The farm located 120 km south-west Taipei, is being developed by Germany-based InfraVest and WPD with the total cost of the onshore project expected to be around €81.5m
The wind farm will employ 23 wind energy converters to be supplied and installed by German wind energy converter manufacturer Enercon.
Enercon will also provide long-term servicing and maintenance at the farm expected to be operational in 2015.
The Tongyuan Wind Farm is the third venture to be financed by KfW IPEX, having already co-financed the wind farm projects in Guanyin and Houlong.
Taiwan had recently passed the Renewable Energy Development Act (REDA) to promote the expansion of renewable energy use in the country and all of KfW IPEX aided farms are regulated under the act.
