The Troll oil and gas field is located in the northern part of the North Sea, about 65km west of Kollsnes, near the Norway city of Bergen, which comprises of 40% of the total gas reserves on NCS.
Under the NOK250m ($43.5m) contract, Aker will supply Statoil with three subsea trees, tubing hangers and a tool package to the oil section of the Troll field.
Aker Solutions subsea business area executive vice president Alan Brunnen said the company will support Statoil in achieving its opportunities on the Troll field.
"Troll represents a cornerstone of Norway’s offshore oil and gas production with Aker Solutions being involved since 1996," Brunnen said.
The company has extended its February 2012 signed contract.
Subsea tree technology is used to produce oil and gas directly from a subsea well to a processing facility, whereas tubing hanger is a component employed in the completion of oil and gas production wells.
A tool package is the tool box which is used to install, modify or retrieve subsea equipment.
