The company also recovered fragments of over 200 carat diamond and said that the Liqhobong mine has produced diamonds with significantly increased color and quality.

The blue diamond identification reinforces Liqhobong mine’s ability to produce diverse and quality diamonds with identification completed by independent valuation consultants – First Element.

Firestone CEO Tim Wilkes said that the Liqhobong resource’s potential will be fully realized once production is increased via a much larger, fit for purpose treatment plant.

First Element CEO Johan Erikson added, "The increased recovery of unbroken, higher quality good colour crystals in the middle and coarser size fractions currently on tender should bolster the prices of the Company’s stones.

"The increase in quality and the potential for very large stones to be recovered through an expanded treatment plant is extremely exciting and demonstrates the value the Company is gaining from the current pilot plant operation."
