The well, located in the Lemang block’s Akatara prospect, will be drilled to a depth of 6,350ft and it is the first well to be drilled in the block.
The well is targeting the Intra Gumai Sand Formation, Upper Talangakar Formation, Lower Talangakar Formation and the Crystalline Basement.
Drilling operations will take about 20 days, with possibly an additional 20 days for testing and analysis, the company said.
Ramba Energy CEO David Soeryadjaya told the Rigzone that the company’s priority is to complete drilling and analysis of the Selong-1 exploration well.
"Ramba will disclose future plans following testing and analysis of Selong-1," Soeryadjaya added.
The Lemang Block is estimated as holding gross recoverable prospective resources of 511 million barrels of oil and 468 billion cubic feet of gas, says petroleum consultancy DeGolyer & MacNaughton.
