The order has been received from GAMEK, a part of the Angolan power corporation Empresa Nacional de Electricidade through Construtora Norberto Odebrecht.

It will enter into force during 2014, upon fulfillment of all administrative requirements.

The company will deliver six Francis turbines, each with an output of 340MW, as well as generators and additional equipment for the main power plant.

Andritz Hydro said the value for comparable deliveries lies in the lower three-digit million euro range.

The hydropower station is being developed on the Kwanza River between the Cambambe and Capanda projects. Commissioning of the project is expected by the end of 2017.
