The company will design the 180MW boiler, air heater, coal pulverizers, structural steel and other boiler auxiliary equipment for Hyundai Engineering, a South Korean contractor.
The equipment will be used for the Unit 2 of the plant, which is owned by Termotasajero, a subsidiary of Colombian investment firm Colgener. The firm is expected to complete the delivery of boiler and other equipment in early 2014.
Engineering work for the project has already been started in June 2012. The plant near Cúcuta would commence in late 2015.
B&W PGG president and COO J Randall Data highlighted the importance of this project and the firm’s selection for it by Hyundai and Termotasajero.
