The equipment, which is supplied by Alstom T&D India’s Padappai manufacturing plant, will be installed at PowerGrid’s 1200kV national test station in Bina, in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
The test station will facilitate field testing of 1200kV equipment before it is deployed to India’s ultra high voltage AC transmission system.
The double knee type disconnector does not require any special tools in order to be adjusted, Alstom said.
