The 32in and over 115km long pipeline of phase-19 of South Pars energy zone will be used to transport the gas produced in the South Pars gas field located in the Gulf of Persia.
South Pars gas field covers an area of about 9,700km2, of which Iran possesses 3,700km2. Iran’s portion is expected to hold about 4 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves.
POGC’s pipeline will be used to develop offshore projects and extract gas reserves.
Pars Oil and Gas Company project manager Hamidreza Masoudi said the pipeline project was completed within two months of time.
"Also, all the equipment and commodities required for construction of the offshore pipelines have been supplied domestically," Masoudi said.
The gas field is being developed to address the increase in demand of natural gas, injection into oil fields, and gas and condensate.
