Entergy Arkansas, a subsidiary of Entergy, will buy 620MW combined-cycle natural gas-fired Hot Spring plant from KGen Hot Spring, a business unit of KGen Power, for a cost of $277m.
The plant is located in Hot Spring County, Arkansas and started commercial operations in 2002.
Another subsidiary of Entergy, Entergy Mississippi, will purchase 450MW combined-cycle natural gas-fired facility Hinds plant from KGen Hinds, a unit of KGen Power.
The acquisition will be completed for a cost of $246m.
Hinds facility located in Jackson, Mississippi started its commercial operations in 2001.
Both the transactions have to be closed by the end of 2012.
