The company held an open season for the project to secure long term transportation commitments from the shippers, but it did not receive sufficient support to move ahead with the proposed project.
The Bakken Crude Express Pipeline project work would involve constructing a 2,092.1km crude oil pipeline with a capacity to transport 200,000 barrels per day of light-sweet crude oil from Williston Basin in the Bakken Shale in North Dakota and Montana to the crude-oil market hub in Cushing, Oklahoma.
ONEOK Partners president Terry K Spencer said, "Despite the robust outlook for crude-oil supply growth in the Williston Basin in the Bakken Shale, we did not receive sufficient long-term commitments under the terms we needed to construct the Bakken Crude Express Pipeline."
