The company’s EnergyAxis system can now enable cellular point-to-point capabilities in a single head-end system to help utilities manage all of their endpoints in one seamless solution.
According to the company cellular point-to-point solutions offer utilities the flexibility required for targeted smart grid deployments across their service areas.
Dominion Virginia Power customer solutions manager Dianne Corsello stated, "This addition to the Elster EnergyAxis solution allows us to more effectively offer customized pricing solutions to customers throughout our service territory."
Elster Solutions president Ed Myzska noted that the firm intends to deliver a comprehensive communication platform that enables multiple smart grid applications.
"As an AMI solution, EnergyAxis can further enable the inclusion of Smart Grid-based capabilities like EV communications for large utilities in advance of full-scale network deployments," Myzska added.
