India’s state-owned power company NTPC has awarded this contract for the Auraiya power plant, which has an installed capacity of 663.36MW.

The turnkey contract calls for revamping of gas turbine, renewing control equipment, supplying equipment and installation work.

Major equipment will be supplied by MHI for the project, which is slated for completion in April 2015. The power station has been operating since 1990.

The rehabilitation work would boost the generating station’s installed capacity by 55MW, in addition to extending its service life by over 10 years.
