The expansion is slated to be completed in October 2012 with the plant to be fully commissioned after two months, Reuters reported citing a report in the China Petroleum Daily.
Thus, the Huabei plant will be able to deliver up to 8 million tonnes of refined fuels and other petrochemical products each year to Tianjin and Beijing as well as to other north China regions.
Huabei refinery is also planning to add a 1 million tonne-per-year ethylene unit.
