The re-designed bills were developed based on input from SDG&E customers, the California Public Utilities Commission’s Consumer Services and Information Division and the Division of Ratepayer Advocates, as well as consumer advocacy groups, such as Disability Rights Advocates and the Utility Consumers’ Action Network.

SDG&E vice president of customer services said that the company’s goal with this redesign effort is to help its customers better understand the charges on their bill, so they can more effectively manage their energy usage on a monthly basis.

SDG&E is a regulated public utility that provides energy service in San Diego and southern Orange counties.
