OL1 will this year undergo a maintenance outage expected to take a good 15 days. In addition to refuelling, some major maintenance activities will be carried out, including the replacement of low-voltage switchgears in two subsystems, piping modifications in the auxiliary feedwater system, installation of a new auxiliary transformer and several other modification and maintenance tasks.
The annual outage of OL1 is provisionally scheduled to be completed by 27 May.
For OL2, it is the turn of a refuelling outage this year. The outage is expected to last about one week and will start on 1 June.
In addition to refuelling, maintenance and repair work as well as tests are to be carried out, and two main seawater pumps will be replaced. According to plans, OL2 should be back in electricity production by 9 June.
Up to 800 subcontractor employees are involved in annual outage work apart from TVO’s own personnel.
