Under the deal, PAR will install about 68 miles of new 230kV and 138kV overhead transmission line and erect steel transmission structures.
The contract also requires PAR to install concrete foundations and construct as well as maintain access roads.
PAR anticipates to complete the construction work on the project in May 2017.
PPL Electric proposed the Northeast Pocono reliability project to meet increasing demand for electricity and improve the reliability of electric service in northeast Pennsylvania and the Pocono Mountains.
Under the project, PPL plans to construct three new electrical substations and about 57 miles of new 230-kilovolt power line from the Wilkes-Barre area to an area west of Hawley, Wayne County.
The company said it needs to construct short segments of 69kV line, about 6 to 8 miles in total, for the three facilities in order to link the new substations to the existing 69kV lines they will supply.
