Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems has received an order for the delivery of 67 V90-3MW wind turbines from SC Ewind and SC Wind Power Park for installation in Romania.

The contract includes delivery, installation and commissioning of the turbines and service agreement. The wind turbines will be delivered to two projects in the region of Constanta in Romania during 2009 and 2010, said Vestas.

Hans Rieks, president of Vestas Central Europe, a wholly owned subsidiary of Vestas Wind Systems, said: “We are satisfied with this new contract, which shows good development of the wind energy market in the eastern European countries.”

Earlier in December 2008, Vestas said that it received an order comprising 22 units of the V90-2.0 MW wind turbine and 3 units of the V80-1.8 MW wind turbine for the Almatret project to be installed in the province in Lerida, in the autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. The contract includes supply, installation, a five-year service agreement as well as a VestasOnline Business SCADA system.

The order has been placed by Eolica de Almatret. This company, which was acquired by the North American corporation Hudson Clean Energy, will be present on the Spanish market under the brand name Element Power.
