Under the contract, Siemens to supply 12 direct-drive wind turbines including 11 model SWT-3.0-113 and 1model SWT-3.0-101 turbine, for the Süderlügum publicly-operated wind farm.
The Süderlügum onshore wind power plant’s installation is slated for late 2014.
Siemens will also provide service and maintenance for a period of 20 years, as part of the contract, to ensure the long-term economical operation of the wind farm.
Siemens will implement the project with Reinhard Christiansen which manages the publicly-operated wind farm business together with Horst Leithoff and Peter Steffens.
Reinhard Christiansen said, "Süderlügum is an important project for the local population that will make a collective contribution to the energy turnaround. As with our other two wind farms, Süderlügum will also supply clean electricity that is funded entirely by the public."
Located around 20km from the North Sea coast, the Süderlügum wind farm will feature 12 wind turbines, each with capacity of 3MW.
