The company has been awarded a contract by EDP Renováveis (EDPR) to provide 95 G114-2.0MW turbines for the Waverly wind farm in Coffey County, Kansas, US.
The project is part of the framework agreement signed between EDPR and Gamesa for the supply of up to 450MW in the US through 2016.
Scheduled to be delivered in the third quarter of 2015, the turbines will feature Gamesa’s MaxPower package of hardware and software modifications to boost the power output of the turbines from 2.0MW up to 2.1MW.
The Waverly wind farm is due to be fully commissioned by the end of 2014.
Under the second contract, Gamesa will supply and of install 50 G97-2.0MW turbines at a wind farm located in central Mexico.
The wind turbines will be delivered during the first quarter of 2015 and the wind farm is scheduled to be commissioned during the last.
