The oil company said that Kristin produces about 10 million cubic meters of gas and roughly 10,000 cubic meters of condensate per day. Production capacity is 20,000 cubic meters of condensate and just over 18 million cubic meters of rich gas per day.
Production from Kristin has been shut down since January 8, 2009 and crews have been mobilized, and the installation is now fully operational, said the company.
Eileen Buan, StatoilHydro’s operations vice president, said: “The problem with the new lifeboats on the Kristin platform was with the hydraulic mechanism which releases the lifeboats from the platform. We have solved that with a more robust system designed to take a higher hydraulic pressure. That equipment has been tested, verified and installed over the past few days.”
