Ofgem will create a new GB markets team, to be led by Philip Davies, currently Ofgem’s director for retail markets and environmental policy. This new team brings together the analytical expertise of the existing wholesale and retail markets teams.
Ofgem is also creating a new Europe and environment team, to be led by Sonia Brown, Ofgem’s director for wholesale markets. The formation of this team recognizes the increasing interactions between the European and climate change agendas.
The changes are designed to organize Ofgem’s resources better in response to the changing nature of its work and corporate priorities, in particular its strong focus on developing competitive and sustainable energy markets in Great Britain and across Europe.
These changes will take effect from April 1, 2007.
