E.ON’s adjusted EBIT increased by 12% to E8.2 billion, compared to E7.3 billion in the prior year. Meanwhile, the power firm’s sales improved by 21%, rising from E56.1 billion to E67.8 billion.

Net income fell 32% to E5.1 billion in 2006, although this was largely due to the higher income recorded in 2005 because of the sale of two significant business units, Viterra and Ruhrgas Industries. Adjusted net income for 2006 was E4.4 billion, a 20% improvement on the previous year’s figure of E3.6 billion.

At E.ON’s annual shareholders meeting on May 3, 2007, the board of management and supervisory board will propose to pay a E3.35 dividend per ordinary share qualifying for a dividend. The company paid a dividend of E2.75 in 2005.

E.ON expects its 2007 adjusted EBIT to again slightly surpass the high prior-year level. The company also expects a slight increase in net income, although this figure could, in particular, be influenced by the marking to market of derivatives at year end.
