eMeter, a provider of clean energy technology, has signed a contract to supply Australian power utility SP AusNet, with the EnergyIP meter data management solution.
According to eMtter, EnergyIP will be deployed across SP AusNet’s 680,000 residential and 20,000 commercial and industrial meter points to support their advanced metering infrastructure (AMI)/smart meter project.
eMeter’s EnergyIP software enables utilities to capture the benefits of their smart grid and smart metering initiatives including demand response programs. Demand response programs have been shown to enable electric consumers to conserve up to 20% of their electricity use.
Cree Edwards, chairman and CEO of eMeter, said: “We are delighted that SP AusNet has recognized our EnergyIP meter data management (MDM) services as the solution to their requirements. EnergyIP will provide SP AusNet the ability to manage meter data and provide real time validation, processing and delivery of this information to the deregulated market.”
With 23 million meters under contract, eMeter Corporation of San Mateo, California, claims to provide software that enables electric, gas and water utilities to realize the full benefits of their Advanced Metering and Smart Grid initiatives. EnergyIP offers a suite of Meter Data Management functionality, an Integration Platform for linking AMI (advanced metering infrastructure) systems to mutility information systems and Business Process Management Tools.
