Under the multi-year contract, the team will provide quality assurance, safety and construction inspection services in support of the in-house inspection team of the independent nuclear regulatory agency, which is overseeing construction of four nuclear power plants in the UAE.
The contracted work scope is scheduled to be determined in the fourth quarter of 2014.

The team will undertake work packages, including project management, construction inspection and oversight services, such as design verification, quality assurance and vendor inspection during construction, installation and commissioning of four nuclear power plants at Barakah, Abu Dhabi.
The first power plant is due to deliver electricity to the UAE grid in 2017, while the other three reactors will be operational by 2020 and will produce approximately 25% of UAE electricity.
Work will assist FANR to continue its planning and preparation for commissioning of the UAE’s first nuclear power plant by 2017.
