The power plant comprises four GE TM2500+ dual-fuel turbines running on clean-burning natural gas.

Capable of operating for at least 30 months, the power plant will serve as a bridging solution until TransAlta Energy develops a 150MW combined cycle gas power station in the region, which is expected in early 2017.

Designed for extreme conditions in Western Australia, the power plant can be expanded with the integration of additional two aero-derivative turbines to meet growing needs.
