The company has completed 617m PQ diamond drilling which is designed to collect samples for lithological gamma studies and comminution test-work, and 3,734m RC drilling to establish the variability of uranium mineralization at the deposit at the mine scale.

A-Cap also conducted selected infill drilling in order to improve information in higher grade areas.

The data gathered will help the company in the pit optimization during the feasibility study to enable application for a mining license in early 2015.

A-Cap managing director Paul Thomson said: "The excellent results confirm the presence and continuity of higher grade uranium mineralization within the shallow areas proposed for early mining and provide further data for mine planning and resource modeling."

In the coming weeks, advisory services firm Optiro will carry out continuity analysis and incorporate it into the resource model.

Diamond core PQ will be used for gamma disequilibrium studies and analysis will be carried out by lithological types to identify gamma factors for differing lithological types.

Letlhakane is said to host a global resource of 662 million tons at 211ppm for a contained 308 million pounds of uranium with 100ppm cut-off.

At a 300ppm U3O8 cut-off, the resource contains a component of 83.7 million tons at 447ppm U3O8 for 82.5 pounds.
