The mine workers are expected to commence voting process later this month and the process is planned to be completed in early October.

Cameco said in a statement: "The union bargaining committee has recommended that members vote to accept the agreement.

"The union and the company have agreed to withdraw the strike and lockout notices issued on August 26, 2014 and preparations are under way to return workers to the sites and safely resume production while continuing to protect the environment."

Contract talks commenced in November 2013 and previous four-year collective agreement expired on 31 December 2013.

Cameco and the union jointly applied for conciliation under the Canada Labour Code earlier this year.
