The Hindu cited Andhra Pradesh State Information and Public Relations Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy as saying after Cabinet meeting that the three parks will be developed with the cooperation from Solar Power.
Andhra Pradesh government signed an agreement with NTPC to develop the 1,000MW solar power park at Kadiri in Anantapaur on 5,500 acres of land, with an investment of INR70m (1.14m).
Under the terms of the MoU, NTPC will construct 1000MW solar power projects at sites identified by the Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) on build-own-operate (BOO) basis, in a phased manner.
About 5,000 acres has also been allocated for the construction of 1,000MW solar power park at Panyam in Kurnool, by NVVNL company.
Additionally, APGenco will build a 500MW solar facility in 3,000 acres land at Galiveedu in Kadapa.
Meanwhile, NTPC has received documents for land transfer for the 4000MW Pudipadaka thermal power project, which has an estimated cost of INR200bn ($3.27bn), near Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
