Each of the Cascade Engineering wind turbines costs $11,500, installed.
“They’re going to have real time data,” BPW Business Services Director Dan Nally said. “We are also working to have that live on our Web site as well.”
“We want (people) to understand the viability of a wind resource, to have the ability to actually see something that is a roof-top wind resource,” Nally said. “To actually see one installed helps. … Our point is educational.”
Nally hopes that those who visit the two sites will get a better understanding of how wind energy works and its cost, which is expected to continue to drop.
“We probably wouldn’t do this as an investment strategy into a resource, but there is more to this,” Nally said.
