RMT, engaged in wind energy development, engineering, and construction, has completed its work at the Flat Ridge-I wind farm in Barber County, Kansas.
According to the company, it has provided design and construction services for a 34.5kV to 138kV project substation, one 138kV five breaker radial bus interconnection switching substation, and a 4.6-mile, 138kV transmission line connecting the wind farm to the interconnection substation.
The Flat Ridge-I wind farm uses 40 Clipper 2.5MW C-96 wind turbine generators to generate 100MW of renewable energy. The facility will provide enough electricity to power approximately 30,000 homes and offset the equivalent of nearly 240,000 tons of CO2 emissions to the atmosphere annually, claims the company.
Earlier, in the last week of March 2009, RMT said that it has concluded construction work at the Locust Ridge II Wind Farm, located in Schuylkill and Columbia Counties, Pennsylvania. Once operational, the development would
provide 102 MW of clean energy to Pennsylvania residents—enough electricity to power over 25,000 homes, said thecompany.
