Additional 5.5% tank capacity will enable to provide more efficient transportation.

After the delivery in the beginning of May 2009, Energy Confidence will transport LNG from projects of Northwest Shelf (Australia), Darwin (Australia), Malaysia I and III, Sakhalin II, and in the future, Pluto and Gorgon.

The new ship is the 7th LNG tanker in Tokyo LNG fleet. By managing multiple vessels, the Tokyo Gas Group intends to procure LNG not only through long term contract, but also through short term, spot contract and by other innovative methods. This would further lower LNG import costs of Tokyo Gas while increasing its LNG procurement flexibility. Tokyo Gas is also considering expanding its LNG transport business, and charter-in/ charter-out of LNG ships.
