The operator is expected to submit a development plan for its DeenDayal (West) discovery to the upstream regulator, the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) by the middle of May 2009, GSPC sources have disclosed.
The company is eager on expansion plans for the NELP-III block, which recently saw exceptional gas bearing sands in another fresh well, situated in the western portion. The tests on the lower Cretaceous conformity in the KG-21 well, at a depth of 5,656 meters, pointed to 800 meter gas column. The probe is being drilled to a total depth of about 6,100 meters, deviating to the northwest.
Of the fifteen wells drilled in the block until now, fourteen are exploration wells and one is an appraisal well. With the conclusion of three recent wells in the block, the KG-31, KG-22 and KG BRU-1, GSPC has attained a total meterage drilled of 48,360 meters.
The total meterage essential to be drilled under the actual minimum work program (MWP) over three exploration phases, currently divided into two new phases, for twenty wells was 45,352 meters.
