The flue gases desulphurization (FGD) project development involves building a new flue gases collector that connects all of the power units to the FGD. A new 150-meter high, three-duct smokestack will also be constructed, which will replace the two existing stacks. Only five power units are currently connected to the installation.
This investment will allow the Polaniec power plant to reduce its sulfur dioxide emissions and meet the prescribed environmental norms. The development of the FGD started in August 2007. The value of the investment is PLN110 million, or around E30 million.
