The agreement between RTE and Korea Power Exchange (KPX) specifically covers the techniques of operational running, the information systems used by grid operators, dispatcher training, support measures to accompany deregulation in the electricity sector, and the security and quality of supply.
RTE said that with the signing of the latest agreement, it is strengthening its presence in Asia, where it has already signed five agreements: three in Japan, one in China and one in South Korea.
Since 2001, RTE has signed 14 co-operation agreements with other transmission system operators or electricity companies in Asia, North America, Africa and Europe. These agreements have led to around 20 service provision contracts for RTE International, a fully owned subsidiary of RTE.
