Dong Energy of Denmark and Essent of the Netherlands will also each acquire a 5% stake in the Gate terminal, which is to be built and operated by a consortium consisting of Nederlandse Gasunie (Gasunie) and Koninklijke Vopak (Vopak).
The partners have announced that the final investment decision has been taken to construct the liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal in Rotterdam. The terminal is expected to be fully operational in the second half of 2011. The consortium estimates that the total project costs of the LNG terminal will amount to approximately E800 million.
